Hey All!
Last week was my spring break, and my family took a short week in Atlanta. It was my first time there and I would definitely go back. This is focused on the City Pass attractions, and I included one trip to a restaurant. Enjoy!
One of my first outfits. Super simple and super comfortable. My top is JCrew, my shorts are Old Navy, my shoes are from the brand Sperry Topsider and my sunglasses are from Nordstrom BP.
This is Centennial Olympic Park.
We first went to the Georgia Aquarium. I'm glad we went, but I wouldn't go back. It was packed and there were lots of 5 year olds running around. There was also an extremely long line to get in. Do take note of the fact I am not a fan of Aquariums anyway.
My favorite place was the College Football Hall of Fame. It was super interactive, which really added to the whole experience. We got to kick field goals and pretend to be on college game day. The photo you see above is another one of the activities where you did game day face paint. Definitely go, even if you aren't a huge football fan.
We also went to the CNN Headquarters. It was just fine. Our tour guide had a very monotone voice and it sounded like he was reciting a script. As with the aquarium, it was a good experience even though it wasn't my favorite. While there we got to see the control room, the news room, and a couple studios.
This was in Centennial Park on day 3. It was gorgeous! My outfit is all Old Navy.
Pemberton Place is the square where the World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium and Civil Rights Museum are.
We also went to the Civil Rights Museum. It was amazing. It was also quite disturbing, it's crazy how far the U.S. has come in terms of Civil Rights, but it's also crazy how far we still have to go. There were videos, readings, and art pieces. Something that really stood out was a station where you put your hands on a table and headphones on your head. You then hear what was said to people at the sit-ins, and try and stay seated and still as long as possible.
Another highlight of the trip was the Varsity. It's a huge diner (one whole city block) with a bunch of greasy junk food. My family got fried pies and ice cream shakes, and they were pretty awesome. The place was packed on a Friday at 3pm, which is pretty amazing.
We got the Atlanta City Passes to see all of these attractions, and they served my family well. We used all 5 tickets inside. They are 44% cheaper than they would've been if bought separately at each attraction.
Lastly we went to Emory. It was an amazing campus. It kind of reminded me of Occidental. Although I don't quite need to start looking at colleges yet, when the time comes this one will def be on my list. It's beautiful.
Hope y'all liked this. A vlog of the trip is currently in the process of being edited, so I'll keep you updated on that. Keep your eyes open for a tag this Wednesday. See you soon!
xoxo,
isabel
