2015 In Review

Hey All!

Happy almost 2016! This year has been a whirlwind, and I can't believe it's almost over. I thought I'd recap my year, not only for your enjoyment, but for me so I can look back on 2015. Enjoy!

January

I had a rough start to this year. I was getting over being super sick, and I was just bummed out all the time.

In January I started being an active member of my school's yoga club, which was really nice.

Something that would really perk me up after a tough day was Duke basketball!

The terrorist attack in Paris this month really shook me up, and I was living in a constant state of worry.

I was pretty much a mess.

Here are some pics from my Instagram January.

February

In February I started really getting into blogging, and posts started popping up regularly.

Also, NC got the most snow it had gotten in a long time, and the most I can ever remember seeing. We got more than 10 days off of school, and I learned I am not a huge fan of snow, though the days off were appreciated.

Track and Field also started this month, and I absolutely loved it. Who wouldn't like running in circles with their friends?

The highlight of this month was going to the Duke v. UNC basketball game in Cameron. In NC, this is the biggest sporting event of the year so being able to experience it was amazing.

March

March was a very busy month, filled with lots and lots of stress & running.

I really learned how to manage my school stress this month.

My Great Aunt & Uncle also visited from Vermont this month, and I along with the rest of my family had a good time catching up with them.

April

For spring break this month my family went to Atlanta, and we had a great time

This month I also started gaining an obsession with college and never leaving the house without my Fiske Guide To Colleges.

May

May was a packed month for me. Not only were there all of my final exams, but there were lots of track meets, social events, and an upcoming performance.

I also did one of my favorite blog shoots (the green shirt one) this month.

My friend/running buddy Emery and I did a 4 mile run, and both set PRs which was a real highlight.

June

June began with my family heading to family camp. As always, we had a great time.

This month I found out someone had been killed at a place very near and dear to me. This was emotional and rough, though I'm so grateful for the community of people that bonded together after this poor persons death.

At the end of June I went to camp for the 4th year. Camp is my favorite place in the world, and this year I made one of my best friends there, along with being reunited with many old friends.

July

In July I did a TON of traveling. I started the month off flying to Baltimore with my bestest friend Charlotte. When spent a week on the inner harbor at her grandparent's. I loved the area and would love to go back one day.

I proceeded to drive from Baltimore to DC, my native city. I love DC and it was great to be back. We did sightseeing touristy stuff, met up with old friends, and went to the Taylor swift concert.

August
About 6 days after getting home from DC, our family left for our 2 week trip to Costa Rica. I loved Costa Rica. It's crazy how much better my Spanish got over this period which I credit to the helpfulness of the Costa Rican people.

After returning home, we had another quick turn around for school started the 26th.

I was very nervous and worried about the start of the new school year, so I was a stress mess.

September

In September I started Cross Country. Cross Country was amazing for me, I loved all the people, my coach was great, and running everyday after school was super nice.

School also was going along great. I was learning a lot from my new teachers, and I had made friends with many new people.

October

In the month of October I had more homework than ever before. We're talking like 3+ hours a night, which was a lot for me especially in addition to XC. I really learned how to manage my time and stress, though it wasn't easy.

This month I also had some challenges with teachers, which is something I'm not used to.

For Halloween my friends dressed as superheroes, but I felt as though I was better suited for a pilgrim costume, so that's what I wore.

November

November started with a field trip to the OBX with my classmates. I had the time of my life, and I would do the same trip again in a heartbeat.

November was also the month of my birthday, and I had a party with some of my closest friends.

This month I did something that really scared me - auditioning for my school's play. I've chickened out every other year, and I'm so proud of myself for facing my fear. I ended up getting a part, and so November was filled with play rehearsals.

This month I also visited my BFF from camp in Charlotte and we had a great time.

Another highlight was doing our town's 5 mile turkey trot on Thanksgiving.

December

December was another really stressful month at school. There were lots of final projects and exams, but I survived!

This month I also had a lot of social engagements which was so much fun for me. My friends and I are all busy people so us managing to find a time when we're all free is rare.

On Christmas I'm flying out to LA, so I'm sure that will be a highlight of this month.

That was my year! It was great, but I'm ready for 2016:)

xoxo,

isabel
