Hey All!
This is the second installment in my Run Away With Me series, due to popular request:) Today I'm talking about my favorite/the best running "stuff" out there. I'm going to have three sections, clothing, fuel, and gear. Please enjoy, and as always, if I missed anything let me know in the comments section.

Clothing
1. For shorts, I'm a big fan of compression shorts, particularly Nike Pros. They allow for no chaffing and they don't get in the way.
Fuel
1. My favorite pre-run snack is applesauce because of how light it is on on my belly. I doesn't fill be up too much, and it also doesn't give me headaches because of how filling it is. The perfect balance!
2. For races sometimes I'll have a fuel type thing. My favorite are the Shot Bloks by Clif. When buying them do be aware that some have alcohol or caffeine.
Gear
1. I'm a big fan of my Jawbone. For those of you that don't know what a Jawbone is, it's a step tracker, and at the end of a day it tells you how far you've gone and how many calories you've burned. It's very motivating and it's also handing to know how far you runs are.

2. For shoes, my last two pairs have been by New Balance. I really like them because they make it feel like you are wearing rocking chairs on your feet. Weird but awesome.
3. To keep my hair out of my face, not only do I wear a ponytail braid, but I also wear headbands. My faves are the skinny Under Armour ones.

3. After tough runs or workouts chocolate milk is my go-to. This is a great article on why it should be yours too : https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/wellness/why-you-should-try-chocolate-milk-after-a-workout/2015/02/02/efe27658-a708-11e4-a7c2-03d37af98440_story.html

2. Every runner needs a watch. Something I love about running is being able to track your improvements, and a watch is the way to do that. You can find them super inexpensive at Target and Walmart.

I always have dark chocolate almond milk after my workouts. Love it...and it's great in coffee, too! What style New Balance shoes do you buy?
ReplyDeleteMy current shpes from there are the New Balance Vazee Pace Shoes, but in the past I've had the 880s :)
DeleteThanks!!
DeleteI'm looking for a new fitness tracker. Do you like your Jawbone? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm a big fan. I prefer it to a FitBit because it won't fall off, and I think it's a little cuter.
DeleteThanks. I think I'll get one.
DeleteThis is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It is the old what goes around comes around routine.
