My Favorite Healthy Snacks

Hey all!
Today I'm going to be talking about my favorite pre-packaged healthy snacks. Being a nutritionist is a job on the list of jobs I might like to have when I grow up, so I love talking about good for you food. I like to think I know a lot in this subject area, but do keep in mind I am not a nutritionist (yet!) I am just a teenager. Without further ado, here are some snacks!

First up: GoGo Squeezes or any squeezy applesauce. This is really just what it sounds like, apple sauce that you basically drink. It is sold in many different flavors, my favorite is berry-apple. It is a great way to get your fruit on the go, it doesn't go bad, and the only ingredients are fruits.

**Warning** The next to photos are turned sideways because I couldn't figure out how to get them the other way. SorryXD

I love any type of bubbly water. La Croix and the Target brands (Simply Balanced) are my favorites but you can get them anywhere. These drinks are plainly carbonated water with a bit of natural flavoring, with 0 calories, sugars, everything. They can satisfy cravings for most anything, and they rock.

Clif Bars absolutely make my top 5 favorite foods. They are dairy free (yay for me! - I'm dairy intolerant) and have a pretty good ingredient list. These are a good breakfast bar, (240 calories), and have low amounts of sugar. They are an energy bar so don't expect to get a ton of protein. Also - Clif Bars are not an everyday food, being they are an energy bar. My favorite flavors are oatmeal raisin, chocolate almond fudge, and chocolate chip.

Trader Ming's Pad Thai is amazing. It can be made in 2 minutes and is great for lunches. It is a long ingredient list which isn't to fabulous but I can deal. There are two servings in one box, so be careful not to overeat. A huge plus is that it is vegan.

I could live off of peanut butter. Seriously. This peanut butter is yummy, but there are better choices. When looking for a peanut butter you want something without added sugars because it tastes just as good, and wouldn't you rather get your sugar somewhere else?

This is a trail mix packet Trader Joes sells in bulk. The three things in it are almonds, cranberries, and cashews. It's perfect to toss in a purse, backpack, or lunchbox for an easily accessible snack. Nuts have lots of good fats and good cholestoral.

Boom Chicka Pop is an organic, non GMO popcorn brand. GMO stands for genetically modified and foods with GMOs are proven to cause health issues, so try to stay away from them. If a food is GMO free it will say so on the packaging. This brand also sells kettle corn but it is so good my family was out.

Finally, I love my Trader Joes freezed dried fruit. It is quite pricey so it is an every once and a while treat. There is no added sugar so it is truly freezed dried fruit.

Those were my favorite healthy pre packaged snacks. Obviously it is always best to have fresh fruit and veggies, but for those of you that are on the go sometimes you just need to grab something quick and easy. If you have any requests for next weeks post please let me know, I'll try and do it. Leave it in the comments below.

xoxo, Isabel

P.S. Shoutout to my mom who asked for a shoutout:)
